Faith healing is a type of healing through the act of prayer. Some faith healers not only pray, but use the act of laying on hands as part of the healing process. As the human thought is the most powerful gift from the divine, prayer attributes to the many blessings bestowed upon our world. Faith in God is the key in performing faith healing.
To explain how faith healing works is to explain the human psyche and power of thought. Human beings are said to be made up of three components defined as the mind, body, and spirit. As the body is physical, the mind and spirit are intangible, and dwell among the physical body. Having faith in God, the mind through spirit provides a direct connection to the divine presence, or God. As God is pure love, positive thought is highly beneficial in faith healing. Positive thought is obtained through a variety of human emotions with some being compassion, selfless acts, and even laughter. Directing ones positive thoughts to the divine, opens the spiritual passage in order to receive the blessings and healing requested by the person performing the faith healing.
As the connection to the divine is a passageway, positive thoughts aid in connecting one’s mind, body, and spirit. This paves the way to healing or being healed. However, if the person requesting healing is doing so for another person, he or she is only a vessel for the divine healing energy to flow through. The person receiving the healing must be open to, and accept the faith healing prayer. Also, the healing must not conflict with the recipient’s spiritual journey, or life’s purpose. Faith healing prayers should always contain the phrase, “If it be your will.”
In the video below, you can see Reverend Peter Popoff do some amazing work:
To further explain faith healing, one must understand how the physical body interacts with the divine spirit. It is scientifically proven that our universe and all that dwells within it is made up of energy. Both positive and negative energy resides in our existence. With that aspect, one can view prayer as an act of sending spiritual energy. As a vessel of God, the faith healer learns to direct the healing energy from the divine into the recipient. Thus, laying on hands is a tool to assist the healing vessel make that healing energy connection. Another way to send healing energy is to pray. When we pray, we send our spiritual energy up to the divine in thankfulness, or request. Our blessings are then returned to help us with our journey’s needs. To receive or perform faith healing, our thoughts must always be open to the path of God.
