Children often have problems that are considered to be the common cold.  While children do catch many cold’s because they are young and have not built up an immunity to them, some children do have serious problems that need to be treated by a doctor.  The most common problems to occur in a child that mimic the symptoms of a cold are chronic sore throats and adenoid issues, headaches, constant fever.  All of these issues could be pointing to a more serious condition with the child and if they continue on a regular basis or are high enough they need to be address right away.

Another common problem for kids is their digestive system.  They can get stomach bugs that knock them out for several days at a time.  However, if they get especially severe you need to see a doctor.  On the other hand some kids never get queasy at all.  Allergies and asthma can tie closely to a stomach bug, or a cold.  They can be flared by these types of problems and need to be paid special attention to if your child becomes ill.  Everything can be quite serious with a child, after all they are so small and may not be able to handle it properly.

Some children often have a problem with depression.  This could be because of a tragic event in their life or the living situation that they are in.  If you think that your child is not as playful as usual or seems to be overly bothered you may want to have them seen by a doctor.  This will allow them to feel better about themselves and not have a large cloud of gloom.
